GEPCO Introduced Special Electricity Package for Consumers, GEPCO CEO Mohsin Raza Khan
Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) chief executive Mohsin Raza Khan has said that a special package has been introduced for the business community on the directive of the Secretary Power Division Irfan Ali, under which the winter months are November, December, January and February. All additional units will be charged only at Rs. 11.97 per unit when the power is consumed in the same month of last year. He expressed these views during a meeting with the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Presidential Chamber Mian Omar Saleem, Vice President Mohammad Asgharbat, Chamber officials Waqas Ahmed, Nair Jamil Bhatti, Mohammad Azhar Aslam, Afaq Ayub and other members were also present on the occasion. Chief Executive Mohsin Raza Khan said that the Government of Pakistan has introduced this special package for the promotion and development of industry and commerce and business through which all B-1, B-2, B-3 connections and all TOU-3 phase commercial and domestic. Consumers can benefit.
In response to a question, he explained that the discount package will be applied to all the total bill units as compared to the units used for the same month last year. He said this is the first time a government has introduced a package on overuse of electricity. On an inquiry by the Chamber members, he said that if any industry independent transformer is damaged or burned, it should not be repaired by any private workshop, but only by Gepco Workshop.
He said that special arrangements have been made in this regard under which if any one of the Independent Transformer malfunctions, he should notify his concerned office in writing that he will be issued a Demand Notice for Transformer Repair and Demand. The user's power will be turned on within 24 hours of the payment of the notice. He said that you should also join us in Jihad against power theft and corruption and do not give any officer any cash in any case and if an officer asks for bribe or bothers you for bribe, he will be quick. On the occasion, President of Gujranwala Chamber Mian Saleem Omar welcomed the Chief Executive Chamber Export and said that all the industrialists are grateful to the government and Gepco for giving such a good package to the industrialists. He also identified various issues to which the Chief Executive responded in point-to-point and issued orders for immediate remediation of these issues.
