IESCO Tops in Low Line Losses, PESCO Tops in Highest Line Losses
Among the electricity distribution companies in Pakistan, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has been declared the best in terms of performance, while Peshawar Electric Supply Company has the most line losses. Sources say that the summary of appointing the board of directors of 8 discos has been sent to the federal cabinet, according to the sources Islamabad Electric Supply Company (ISCO), Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), Tribal Area Electric Supply Company ( Tesco), new appointments will be made in the boards of Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO). Sources said that the summary of new appointment has also been sent to the boards of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), Multan Electric Supply Company (MEPCO) and Gujranwala Electric Supply Company (GEPCO). Sources say that the selection of members in the new board has been done on a very professional basis, it is proposed to dissolve the boards of 8 electricity distribution companies and form new boards, the decision regarding the dissolution and formation of the boards will be taken by the federal cabinet.

LESCO Chairman Hafiz Nauman and CEO Shahid Haider chaired the meeting of the Project Management Unit, a briefing was given on various projects, they directed to remove the defects in the projects immediately. Detailed consideration was given. The Chairman said that LESCO has completely shifted the 66 KVA system to 132 KVA which is an achievement. Severe wind and rain in Lahore, 50 feeders of LESCO dead shot, electricity supply suspended
Heavy wind and rain occurred in Lahore and its surroundings last evening. More than 50 feeders were deadshot due to heavy wind and rain in different areas of Lesko region, due to which electricity supply was suspended in the affected areas. Due to heavy wind and rain, Northern And Sheikhupura Circle was the most affected. On the instructions of LESCO Chief Executive Engineer Shahid Haider, the field staff was put on high alert. The NTDC team completed the restoration work of three towers affected by heavy rains in Kangri area of Balochistan and 220 KV double circuit DG Khan - Loralai transmission line was successfully energized. National Disaster Management Authority Chairman Lt. Gen. Inam Haider Malik instructed the concerned agencies to be alert and take steps to continuously monitor rivers and streams in view of monsoon rains and possible floods.
